THAT is what the story should be. I don't have a problem with anyone doing whatever the hell they want with their reproductive organs but it's definitely not newsworthy to find out that women can get preggers.

As for the news media, I always expect them to be jackasses. But this is really an exceptional case of jackassery even for them. I actually heard one commentator on CNN (when she was already 3 months pregnant) say that he didn't believe it until he saw an ultra-sound. I was just FLABBERGASTED!

Re: NewsFlash!!!
I purposely wasn't reading any of the articles about this because I knew it would just make me NUTTY. But since you've brought it up, I figured I should go read an article about it.

I have to rant about just one thing. I have an issue with the fact that Thomas [the female] was allowed to legally change their gender to "male". While I understand that this applicable for people that undergo sex reassignment surgery...does removing your breasts, keeping your uterus and taking testosterone really qualify as "sex reassignment"? If so, it’s an insult to the women who battle breast cancer and have undergone mastectomies and estrogen-inhibiting hormone therapy. I don’t think anyone would consider that they are now “male”.

GAH! I'm having an aneurysm. I’ll get off the soapbox. Anyway...

To answer your question, my thought on why this considered a news story: the Media is all about delivering sensationalism instead of delivering constructive information. You're not used to it by now?

Thanks for the afternoon aggravation Fitz. You owe me BIG! =P

Re: NewsFlash!!! In my book a vagina is a vagina. So yea no surprise she/he can have a baby. Although I do wonder what years of testosterone therapy will do to the fetus. I do find it odd they would change his/her gender (I think it says his/her driver's license says male) without her/him having the requisite male dangly bits. I don't think that is exactly fair. I mean you need to commit either way dude/dudette.

Tracy recently scribbled the following on their toilet (I mean blog)..Refined Sugar.
